PyroGuard Spark Detector and Extinguishing System

Control Console

The control console is the nerve center of the PyroGuard System. It is microprocessor-based so commands can be entered through an integrated keyboard, or via diskettes. Updates can be easily done through the system software, not by altering hardware. Three models are offered: CI and CII for small single or double-zone applications, and CX for large plants requiring multiple zone protection.

Detectors

PyroGuard detectors use electronic photodiodes to sense the smallest spark in ducts up to 79" diameter. They signal the console, which activates the suppression system. There are three detector models: LP, for low pressure pneumatic dust collection systems; HT, for high pressure pneumatic conveyors, hot gas ducts, and other high temperature applications; and AL, for use with mechanical conveyers of drop chutes where ambient light is present.

Extinguishment Unit

PyroGuard's preplumbed spray nozzle assembly extinguishes sparks with finely atomized water. Smart valves in the unit activate spray response with 200 milliseconds from detection, and confirm water flow under pressure at each nozzle for maximum plant protection.

Explosion Vents

Explosion vents are aluminum diaphragms which burst open at a predetermined pressure increase to prevent rupture of the ductwork. They are secured on one side to prevent them from becoming airborne. They are easily replaced.
